What the plans are

Build to Size draws framing plans, cut lists and material lists from the size you enter. They are plans for hobby builds such as sheds, coops, raised beds, birdhouses, picnic tables and stair stringers. They are not stamped engineering drawings.

Codes, permits and loads

Building codes, permit rules, snow and wind loads differ by town. Check with your local building department before you build, and have a qualified person review any structure that people stand on, store heavy loads in, or that must carry heavy snow. You are responsible for building safely.

Prices and quantities

Material prices are typical store prices at the time we checked and change often. Quantities assume standard lumber sizes and normal waste. Check the label and the current price on what you buy.

Plan sets

A plan set is for your own build. You may build the design as many times as you like, but you may not resell or republish the plan set. If you find a wrong measurement, write to us and we will fix it and send you the corrected plan.

We work hard to get every number right, but the site, the app and the plans are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from using them beyond the amount you paid us.
